Master Programmes

Degree Program in Sport Development and Management (90 credits) is a master’s programme offered in English and it leads to an internationally recognized degree Master of Sports Studies. The programme is designed for students who already have a bachelor’s degree and/or have been working in the field of sport and health management for the minimum of three years. Completing the programme takes about two years of part-time studies and the structure of the studies consists of contact sessions lasting 3-4 days each period, and distance learning.

Liikunnan kehittämisen ja johtamisen koulutusohjelma (90 credits) is a master’s programme offered in Finnish and it leads to the degree Master of Sport Studies. The aim of the studies is to develop the competences of the students especially in the areas of sport management, sport marketing, sport leadership and sport business. The studies are practice oriented and based on the latest research findings from the area. Completing the programme takes about two years part-time studies.

Profile of the Degree Programme in Sport Development and Management

The goal of the studies is to develop the students’ international skills and competences through a variety of sport management courses, modern means of education, international seminars, and the students’ own work development projects including the Master’s thesis. The main subjects of the programme are sport management, sport marketing, media, innovations, and financing.
